Reliable Communication Requires More Than Removing the Leash
Off-leash training is built on foundational communication, appropriate preparation, and owner responsibility. It is a next step after prerequisite training, not a starting point, and an e-collar is only included when it is appropriate for the individual dog and goal.

Readiness is confirmed after the foundational program, based on whether the dog has the communication, temperament, and current skills needed for the goal. Distance and distraction are added progressively rather than assuming the equipment itself creates reliability.

Can I start with e-collar or off-leash training?
